HARVEST SUPPER & HARVEST FESTIVAL, 2008
(Photos and story by James Pearson)
The Harvest Festival got off to a good start on Friday night, 3rd of October when a packed village hall enjoyed supper cooked by our Church Warden, Rosemary Murgatroyd .The raffle in aid of the Sudan raised £184. This was followed by a quiz which caused much merriment. The evening was a great success and we thank Rosemary and all the lady helpers in making the Harvest Supper such a success.
Sunday 5th October saw the Priory folk celebrate the Harvest Festival and during the service, our Rector George, dedicated the Victorian Altar Ware which had recently been returned after extensive refurbishment. After a few months absence it is now once again gracing the Priory Altar .

THE SUMMER FETE, - 25 August 2008
(Photos and story by James Pearson)
Despite the terrible weather leading up to this years Priory Summer Fete, we were blessed that the rain did not fall until right at the very end.
The fete was opened by Lord Burlington and his three small helpers.
The afternoon was masterminded by Colin Crabtree, Christine Windle, Rosemary
and Stephen Murgatroyd, who are to be congratulated as indeed are all the
stall holders and stewards, many of whom worked behind the scenes.
The Otley Brass Band was in fine form and entertained the huge crowds throughout
the afternoon.
The public turned out in even greater numbers than last year and there was
something for everyone.
Ferret bingo remained one of the most popular events.
We thank the Duke of Devonshire for allowing us to hold the fete in his garden,
despite all the rain which fell in the two weeks preceding the fete.

EASTER AT THE PRIORY 2008, - The Week Before and Easter Day
James Pearson has provided two marvellous sets of photos of the Priory Church, and the grounds by the Priory Church, this Easter time. They are presented as a slide show, below.
The photos are particularly fascinating in that the first set shows the Priory Church and grounds in a Spring-line setting, the photos being taken on 17 March. The second set, taken on Easter Day, 23 March, show the Priory Church and grounds in the grip of a Winter chill. Both sets of photograhs are presented as a single slide show.

MAKING PALM CROSSES FOR PALM SUNDAY, 2008
A group of dedicated people met in the church office on Tuesday 11 March and made Crosses for Easter. Judging by the concentration on people's faces the task proved more difficult than some had expected, but was very rewarding. The crosses were made for the Priory Church and for the local Bolton Abbey schools.
