Friday 27 October saw members of the Priory Church meet in the Bolton Abbey Village Hall for a farewell reception to Revd Canon John Ward. There was a good turn out.
Shelagh Sunner, the senior church warden made a speech thanking John Ward for all he had done for us in the Priory Church during the eleven years of his ministry and presented him with a cheque on his retirement.

John Ward held his final service on Sunday 29 October. At the end of the service, His Grace The Duke of Devonshire thanked John Ward for his service to the Priory Church, and said how much he would be missed. The congregation then gave John a prolonged standing ovation. We are extremeley fortunate that the Revd James Turnbull will once again be caring for the ministry of the Priory Church during the interregnum
