Rue de Cardinal DuBois

A scene in Montmartre, taken in 1989. Even though close to the Sacre Coeur, with all its attendant tourists, this scene is extremely "French". I love the atmosphere conveyed by the image, - people carrying on their normal business, chatting away.

Nowadays the street has been completely transformed by a new station for the nearby funicular railway, - all glass and stainless steel. The atmosphere has been considerably altered.
