Young Timpanist

One evening I was lucky enough to be invited to photograph the Cleveland Youth Orchestra in rehearsal. Although I shot off several rolls of film, most of the resultant prints were only of use as records due to the general "clutter" of instruments, music stands, and furniture in each shot.

However, I gave the lith treatment to this shot of my younger son, Jeremy, on the timpani to see if I could improve matters. I find the shot works extremely well, as it manages to convey the general happiness of the occasion and tells a surprisingly full story.
